Colile Mkhatshwa is a University of Mpumalanga student currently doing her Advanced Diploma in Nature Conservation. She recently completed her National Diploma in Nature conservation in 2019. She joined the Aquatic Ecosystem Research team as an intern during her final year (2019) as her Work Integrated Learning. Colile worked on an alien invasive red claw crayfish species Cherax quadricarinatus. She is working on the mesocosm evaluation of predation and competition of fish and macroinvertebrates on macroinvertebrates and aquatic vegetation communities. Colile is interested in the impact of land use activities on the well-being of aquatic ecosystems. Colile has experience in macroinvertebrates and fish sampling, and project coordination.
