Nico Wolmarans is a PhD candidate at North-West University and University of Antwerp, where he focuses on the ecology and ecotoxicology of amphibians. He obtained an MSc in Environmental Science from the North-West University in 2015. He is a member of Southern African Society for Aquatic Scientists (SASAqS) and the Society for Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC). He currently serves as the regional representative for Southern Africa to the SETAC Africa branch student advisory council. Nico has almost 10 years’ experience working on floodplain ecosystems in Southern Africa with specific focus on the effects of pesticides on amphibians, and aquatic ecosystem health.
